Calico Cutie is a home based business I created to help fund my obsession...sewing!  I have always enjoyed sewing, and am constantly getting compliments on things I made.  I decided to find a way to offer these things to my "fans" by creating this website for them. 

I am the wife of 10 years to Luke and mom to three beautiful children - Sean, Isabel and Ashley.  They are the inspiration for my designs!  Everything I make to sell is something I have made for myself as well.  They say necessity is the mother of invention!

My love of sewing comes from my late Grandma Hall.  She was the most amazing quilter.  She could pick the ugliest fabric you've ever seen, put it into a quilt and turn that ugly duckling into a beautiful swan.  I used to sit and watch her age weathered hands bobbing that needle through layer upon layer of calicos and solids, stitching in place a moment of her time.  I know she sits with me at my sewing now, just as I did with her as a child.
